Privacy Policy
Reelo App ("Reelo", "we") lets a host collect the photos guests take at an event. This page explains what we store, why, and for how long. The short version: Reelo handles photos only, has no ads, and does no tracking.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and first name, or, if you use Sign in with Apple, an Apple identifier (and the email Apple shares, which may be a private relay address). There are no passwords: we email a one-time code to sign you in.
- Event details the host enters: event name, date, host name, welcome message and photo challenges.
- Photos you choose to send to an event, the hearts you give, and highlight reels the host saves. Photos are resized on your phone before upload.
- Purchase records: product, price, date and transaction id. In the iPhone app Apple processes the payment; on the web Stripe does. We never see your full card number or your Apple Account details.
- Basic usage: the days you used Reelo and whether that was in the iPhone app or a browser, so we can count active users. No advertising identifiers and no third-party analytics.
- Support messages you send us, with the name and email you give so we can reply.
We don't ask for your phone number, contacts or location.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad or analytics SDKs in the app.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use your photos to train AI models.
How it's used and who sees it
Photos sent to an event go to the host. If the host turns on the shared gallery, other guests who joined that event can see them too (with the guest's display name). Anyone with an event's code can join it, so hosts should share the code only with their guests. The host can hide or delete any photo at any time.
The camera is used only when you take a photo in the app. Reelo adds photos or reels to your photo library only when you tap save. Highlight reels are made on the host's phone.
Service providers process data only on our behalf: Railway (hosting and storage), Resend (sign-in codes and support emails), Stripe (web payments) and Apple (App Store payments and Sign in with Apple). We disclose data only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Event photos are kept for the period included in the event's plan, counted from when the event was created, and then deleted:
| Plan | Photos kept |
|---|---|
| Free | 14 days |
| Party | 180 days |
| Premiere | 365 days |
Hosts should download their photos (Save all / ZIP) before then. Reelo+ members keep the photos they took for as long as they're members. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for accounting and tax law.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time: in the iPhone app, open the account menu and tap Delete account, or ask us through support. This deletes your account, the events you host (with their photos) and the photos you took.
- Guests: report a photo, ask the host to remove it, or contact us and we'll delete it.
- Hosts: delete photos from the dashboard, or contact us to delete a whole event.
- To ask what we hold about you, or for a copy, contact us through reeloapp.online/support. Include the event code.
Children
Reelo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
